Even though it is not sure where the art of Origami started (China or Japan), the Japanese people are known to be the best paper folders, creating origamis of amazing beauty and realism. Here are a few images I found on Google.
I wish one day, I will be able to create such wonders. In the meantime, for those of you who are starting in this art of folding paper (literal translation of the Japanese word Oru Kami from which "Origami" comes), these are a few of the rules to strictly follow:
Choose sheets of paper properly cut in the right format. Prefer paper thin enough to still be rigid but supple enough to be properly folded.
Be careful when folding. Precision and attention are key to success, especially when it comes to corners.
Work on a hard and smooth surface in order to fold with precision.
Use your nails (I prefer the thumb nail) to squash each fold nicely. It will be easier afterwards.
